MUCBO Opens the Exhibition “Quan les dades parlen: el batec de la fauna balear”

On May 23rd, MUCBO successfully inaugurated its new temporary exhibition, “When Data Speaks: The Pulse of Balearic Wildlife.” Around forty people attended the event, which served to introduce this scientific and educational project focused on the study of terrestrial fauna in the Balearic Islands.

The exhibition is based on the project “Impact of Multiple Threats on Population Trends of Terrestrial Vertebrate Species in the Balearic Islands” and presents long-term monitoring data collected over the years thanks to collaboration between public administrations, non-profit organizations, and research teams.

Combining a scientific and outreach approach, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the importance of long-term species monitoring as a key tool for detecting threats, understanding environmental impacts, and guiding evidence-based conservation policies. It is also an opportunity to rediscover our natural heritage and “listen to what nature is trying to tell us” through data.

The exhibition is now open to the public at MUCBO and reflects the museum’s ongoing commitment to citizen science, conservation, and environmental outreach.

This project has been partially funded by the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands through the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities, and by the European Union – Next Generation EU (BIO2022/003).
