The MUCBO Friends Society Organizes a Guided Visit for the Elderly of Port de Sóller

On May 28th, the MUCBO Friends Society organized a guided visit to the Botanical Garden and the facilities of the Natural Sciences Museum, specially aimed at the elderly of Port de Sóller.

The visit was led by Isabel Bauzà, a MUCBO volunteer, and was attended by 34 people. During the tour, participants showed great interest in the plants they have known throughout their lives and that, unfortunately, are disappearing over time. They also highly appreciated the conservation work of the flora and fauna of the Balearic Islands carried out at MUCBO.

Some participants shared childhood memories and anecdotes related to Camp d’en Prohom, the site where our facilities are located, enriching the experience with personal stories and a strong emotional connection to the surroundings.

The president of the association, Lluc Garcia, welcomed the visitors and introduced the Friends Society, explaining its organization and the activities it promotes.

After the garden visit, attendees enjoyed a social snack, where they had the opportunity to meet the manager and other team members, fostering dialogue and strengthening the relationship between the public and the institution.
