On Saturday, 6 June, a group of more than twenty birdwatching enthusiasts spent the morning observing wildlife on the island of Sa Dragonera. Guided by Toni Fontanet, participants were able to spot, from Sant Elm to the Port of Sa Dragonera, Audouin’s gulls, Eleonora’s falcons, swifts, blackbirds, shearwaters, sparrows, Sardinian warblers and yellow-legged gulls. They also observed griffon vultures soaring above the cliffs of La Trapa and from the Tramuntana lighthouse.
The calm sea also provided sightings of dolphins, while on land the island’s curious lizards stole the show.
This activity forms part of the 2026 Ornithology Programme.
