During the past holidays, we received a very special visit at the MUCBO: Maria Antònia Castañer Muntaner, born in December 1944 and the daughter of the family of innkeepers who lived on the Camp d’en Prohom estate, the current location of our foundation.
During the visit, visibly emotional, Maria Antònia shared with us cherished memories of her childhood in this space. She spoke of the evenings spent around the calienta-barrigas (a traditional heating device), which is now in the library of the Botanical Institute, the games without class distinction she shared among the trees in the garden, and the smell of homemade bread baked over a wood fire.
At the MUCBO, we are deeply grateful for this enriching visit, which has allowed us to connect with the living history of such a special place.
