Closing the self-sufficiency series with the tomàtiga de ramellet as the star

On July 19th, we held the final session of this year’s edition of the Workshops for Self-Sufficiency series, dedicated to one of the most rooted crops in our traditional agriculture: the tomàtiga de ramellet (a traditional Mallorcan tomato variety).

The workshop was once again led by Llorenç Payeras, with whom we explored how to grow this variety for self-consumption, as well as long-term preservation techniques.

The session ended with a very special hands-on activity: we created a tomato enfilall (a string of tomatoes), reviving this traditional preservation method that connects us to the wisdom of past generations and a more self-sufficient, sustainable way of life.

With this workshop, we bring to a close a cycle that has blended practical knowledge, ancestral wisdom, and sustainability — three core values we will continue to promote at MUCBO.
