Yesterday, on International Museum Day, the Consell de Mallorca formalized the MUCBO’s inclusion in the Network of Museums of Mallorca, in a day aimed at highlighting the role of museum centers as spaces for conservation, outreach, and social cohesion. The celebration is part of a program of activities promoted by the Consell de Mallorca that runs throughout the month of May, featuring conferences, sessions, and outreach proposals at the different centers of the network.
The main event took place at the Museum of Mallorca and served to recognize the work of the centers that make up the Network of Museums of Mallorca, among which the MUCBO is now also included, together with six other museums and museum collections. This network constitutes a fundamental tool to foster collaboration between museums, strengthen their professionalization, and promote the projection of the island’s cultural heritage.
A shared project to strengthen museums
The participation of the MUCBO in this network represents an opportunity to continue advancing in key areas such as conservation, documentation, communication, and the development of joint projects with other cultural institutions.
The Network of Museums of Mallorca aims to join efforts to improve the quality of museum facilities and consolidate them as active spaces within the social fabric. It currently includes seven institutions, including the MUCBO and the Museum of the Sea of Sóller.

Within the framework of this celebration, the MUCBO reaffirms its commitment to scientific outreach and the conservation of the natural heritage of the Balearic Islands. The museum works to bring scientific knowledge closer to citizens and to promote awareness of biodiversity and the environment.
