Working for the Conservation of Limonium dragonericum

This October, the MUCBO gardening team, along with the Garden’s curator, Magdalena Vicens, traveled to Sa Dragonera to carry out a translocation of the sea lavender Limonium dragonericum.

The goal of this action is to protect the plants that are at risk due to upcoming accessibility work on the island. To prevent this Dragonera endemic species from being affected, seeds have been preserved in the germplasm bank, cuttings have been prepared, and specimens have been collected for conservation at the Botanical Garden. They will be kept there for a suitable period before being returned to the island.
