Drawing Fascination: Art and Nature in Dialogue at MUCBO

On Saturday, May 17th, as part of the celebration of Fascination of Plants Day, we experienced an artistic and contemplative journey through some of the most beautiful corners of MUCBO and the Sóller Botanical Garden, guided by artist Jeannine Cook.

The activity began with a guided tour of the exhibition Tracing Nature in Silver, recently inaugurated at MUCBO.

Then, surrounded by natural light, birdsong, and the vibrant presence of the garden’s plants, Jeannine Cook led an open-air drawing workshop. The experience was much more than just an art session — it was a slow immersion in observation, a practice of connection with nature and with oneself. As the artist explains, drawing with silverpoint is an act of calm, balance, and humility — a way of allowing nature to reveal itself in all its elegance and simplicity.

We are deeply grateful to Jeannine Cook for guiding us through such a meaningful experience, where art and nature joined hands to inspire us through silence and contemplation.

For those who were unable to attend, a new session of the workshop has been scheduled for Friday, June 14th, in another exceptional setting: the olive grove of Es Seregalls, in Fornalutx. Although the event is fully booked, you can request to be added to the waiting list. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to draw with Jeannine Cook.
