During the last two weeks of January, the MUCBO team traveled to this Asian country with the ARCHBOTANKA project, where they worked daily on adapting the activity “The Usefulness of Plants” from our educational offer for Sri Lankan students. The goal of this first stay is to understand the school reality in order to create an educational resource that perfectly fits the educational community of the different countries that make up the consortium.
For this reason, during the sessions at the schools, research was conducted on the students’ knowledge of ethnobotany and the flora around them, introducing more playful and participatory learning dynamics that open new windows to the more traditional education they experience daily.
In addition, the educational team from MUCBO and IPHES, the coordinating entity of the project, presented the idea of the initiative to the students of education at the University of Peradeniya with the aim of sharing challenges and exploring pathways that will lead to the design and creation of the new educational resource.
