On 20 June, the headquarters of GOB-Menorca hosted the Menorcan edition of the workshops held as part of the 3rd Balearic Entomology Conference.
During these sessions, entomology enthusiasts and researchers had the opportunity to expand their knowledge of arthropods while learning scientific photography and illustration techniques.
The workshops included “Arthropods on a White Background: In Situ Studio Photography”, led by Joan Marquès Faner; “Bee Identification” and “How to Accurately Draw Insects and Other Arthropods”, both delivered by Joan Díaz Calafat. The latter workshop proved especially popular, and participants were able to take home a cloth bag decorated with the scientific illustrations they had learned to create.
The conference, organised by MUCBO and the Societat d’Amics, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education and Universities and the support of Illes Balears Sostenibles, serves as a meeting point for zoologists, entomologists and anyone interested in discovering and learning more about the science of entomology.
