Another Month of Summer at MUCBO: A Journey Through Continents, Nature, and Culture!

This August, the MUCBO summer workshops turned into a true adventure full of discoveries, games, culture, science, and lots of laughter. Children and teens continued their symbolic journey across different continents, exploring their biodiversity, traditions, and stories through creative and hands-on activities.

From Oceania to Greenland, passing through Africa and Asia, we embarked on a journey that allowed us to see the world through new eyes.

In Oceania, we discovered Aboriginal art, the unique biodiversity of its islands, and its culture through games and creativity. In Africa, we made ritual masks, acted out legends, and even took an imaginary safari through national parks. We also took a train trip to Palma to watch a film, and helped with the sustainable decoration of Sant Bartomeu.

In Asia, we wrote in Chinese and Korean, created rice-dyed mandalas, and listened to the real story of an environmental education project in Sri Lanka. We paraded like in the Esala Perahera, learned astronomy, and tasted spices from around the world.

In Greenland, we learned how life adapts to icy environments, made crafts using recycled materials to represent animals and plants from cold ecosystems, and experimented with ice in playful activities. We even made homemade ice cream using fresh seasonal fruit, guided by two professional chefs!

We also made time for well-being and calm, with sessions of yoga and natural spa, and ended the week enjoying the sun and the beach — the perfect way to close the summer program.

Unforgettable outings were also part of the experience, like the boat trip to Sa Calobra, and special workshops with collaborating organisations such as the Sóller Volleyball Club, the Municipal Library, and the La Luna Sausage Factory.

And as always, we combined all this learning with water games, sports, creativity, and lots of shared joy and discovery!
