MUCBO hosts “Young People with Nature”, a new initiative to bring young people closer to the natural environment

At MUCBO, we are very excited to introduce “Young People with Nature”, a new initiative created with the aim of providing a meeting space for young people in Sóller centred around the natural environment, science and heritage.

The project was presented at MUCBO with the aim of offering young people the opportunity to step outside the classroom, experiment, discover their surroundings and share experiences with other young people. Nature will thus become the setting for a range of activities and adventures that will allow them to learn through direct, hands-on experience.

Throughout the project, experiences will be offered in connection with different areas of our natural heritage: the sea and marine ecosystems, forests, wildlife, fossils and observation of the night sky, among other activities.

Beyond the activities themselves, one of the main objectives is to create a group of young people connected to MUCBO who can actively participate in developing the activities and contribute their own ideas and interests.

A first experience to discover marine ecosystems up close and learn about the importance of Posidonia oceanica, a fundamental element of our sea.

At MUCBO, we believe that learning about nature also means experiencing it. For this reason, this initiative promotes learning based on experience, curiosity and participation, while encouraging respect and responsibility towards the environment around us.

“Young People with Nature” is an initiative promoted by the Department of Youth, the MUCBO Friends’ Society and a group of young people who will actively participate in shaping the project.

At MUCBO, we are very happy to be part of this initiative and hope that it will be the beginning of many more adventures with young people and for nature!
