A new session of the Self-Sufficiency Workshop Series is here, this time focused on the recovery and preservation of traditional rare legume varieties — a valuable part of our agricultural heritage that deserves to be protected and cultivated.
This hands-on workshop, led by ecological farming expert Llorenç Payeras, is ideal for anyone interested in rediscovering and growing local legume varieties that have nearly disappeared from our agricultural landscape. We’ll discuss unique species, their adaptive traits, their nutritional value, and how they can contribute to more sustainable and resilient farming systems.
In addition to a theoretical introduction, we’ll learn how to identify, select, and propagate these seeds, and which practices ensure their proper conservation. We’ll also explore how these varieties can be integrated into small family gardens or larger agroecological projects.
Activity funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food | Agricultural and Fisheries Guarantee Fund of the Balearic Islands (FOGAIBA)
