Starting on May 23, the MUCBO | Museu de Ciències Naturals will host a new temporary exhibition titled WHEN DATA SPEAK: THE HEARTBEAT OF BALEARIC FAUNA. This exhibition gives voice to years of monitoring the terrestrial fauna of the Balearic Islands. Based on the scientific project “Impact of Multiple Threats on Population Trends of Terrestrial Vertebrate Species in the Balearic Islands”, and using monitoring data collected over the years thanks to the joint efforts of public administrations, non-profit organizations, and research teams, the exhibition brings us closer to the reality of Balearic terrestrial fauna.

Through a scientific and educational lens, “When Data Speak” highlights the importance of long-term monitoring as a fundamental tool to detect and prevent population threats, understand impacts, and guide evidence-based conservation policies. It is an opportunity to rediscover our natural heritage and understand how time and data help us listen to what nature wants to tell us.

This work has been partially sponsored and promoted by the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands through the Conselleria d’Educació i Universitats and by the European Union–Next Generation EU (BIO2022/003).
