El MUCBO participarà al XVIII Congrés de la AIMJB a Vitòria

From June 9 to 12, a delegation from MUCBO | Sóller Botanical Garden will attend the latest edition of the Congress of the Ibero-Macaronesian Association of Botanical Gardens, which will take place at the Olarizu Botanical Garden in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

The title of this year’s meeting is “Botanical Collections, Management and Conservation of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity”, with a special emphasis on the importance of collections as tools for conservation, knowledge dissemination, and research. The meeting will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences in the management of germplasm banks, living collections, and documentary archives.

The Garden’s curator, Magdalena Vicens, will present the paper entitled “When the Collection Raises the Question: Living Collections as Scientific Infrastructure.” Meanwhile, Manuel Pomar, from the Garden’s education department, will present a paper on the educational materials that have been developed and used in the MUCBO’s children’s activities.
