Continuing Work on the Project “Caves: Unique Environments”

MUCBO is continuing work on the project “Caves: Unique Environments”, an initiative funded by FECYT, Ministeri de Ciència i Innovació and Conselleria d’Educació i Universitat del GOIB. The main goal is to bring the latest scientific findings about caves to the general public in a clear and accessible way.

The project will showcase the physical characteristics of caves, with a special focus on rock formations and water bodies, and will introduce the endemic fauna adapted to these unique environments. It will also highlight the historical importance of caves as shelters linked to paleontological and archaeological sites, and will encourage reflection on their fragility and the need for their conservation.

Outreach will include a partially traveling exhibition featuring photos, diagrams, 3D models, and scale replicas, making the visit engaging and educational for all audiences.

This summer, visitors can also enjoy a series of four talks, where specialized researchers will share their insights and discoveries about this fascinating underground world. Check our calendar for details!
