We continue the lecture series “LES COVES, UNS AMBIENTS ÚNICS“, this time with naturalist and MUCBO collaborator Lluc García.
Bioespeleology is the science that studies cave-dwelling fauna. It is part of subterranean biology, which explores life in all types of underground habitats, both terrestrial and aquatic. It is also a discipline historically linked to the island of Mallorca, where some of the world’s earliest discoveries were made—discoveries that inspired pioneering theories about the origin and evolution of organisms living in ecosystems marked by total darkness and scarce resources.
