We are launching a new initiative at MUCBO in collaboration with the Societat d’Amics: the Natural Conferences series, a set of events that combine science and music to bring us closer to nature through multiple perspectives.
The first event invites us to prepare for a unique astronomical phenomenon: the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026. A once-in-a-century opportunity, with Sóller being one of the best observation points in all of Mallorca.
The talk will be given by Pep Marcús Colom, a schoolteacher, passionate astronomer, and president of Club Newton, the astronomical association of the Pla and Llevant regions of Mallorca. A regular contributor to the Setmanari Sóller and radio programs, Pep blends scientific outreach with a love for popular culture and everything that smells of stars.
The session will end with a few minutes of music selected by the speaker for the occasion, followed by an aperitif and an open conversation with the speaker.
An event to look up at the sky… with your feet firmly on the ground.
