At the end of June, coinciding with the start of the school holidays, MUCBO launched a new edition of its summer workshops — an educational and creative adventure that this year invites children to travel the world through nature, science and culture.
Throughout July, each week focused on a different environment: deserts, oceans, South America, North America and Europe served as guiding themes for hands-on learning through games, experiments, excursions, workshops, and sessions with specialists.
Children explored how life survives in extreme conditions, learned about local marine biodiversity, created coral reefs, travelled through jungles and mountains, built volcanoes, identified magical plants and uncovered ancient legends and mysteries. They also took part in activities like Expedition Sóller, as part of the Biennal B, and welcomed visits from professionals such as historian Toni Quetglas, archaeologist Jaume Deyà and Sóller’s school police officer.
Meanwhile, the older group experienced two complementary initiatives: Space Explorers, part of the Nuevos Activos programme (UIB, FUEIB and the Ministry of Families and Social Affairs), to learn how to navigate the digital world safely and creatively; and participation in contemporary art and environmental awareness workshops.
With all this, MUCBO continues to establish itself as a space for discovery, play, and critical thinking — where nature is experienced with curiosity and respect.
And this isn’t over… in August we’ll keep travelling, discovering and creating!
