{"id":9050,"date":"2025-09-04T13:25:54","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T11:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mucbo.org\/un-viatge-paleontologic-apassionant-al-mucbo-amb-josep-juarez-2\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T13:37:36","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T11:37:36","slug":"un-viatge-paleontologic-apassionant-al-mucbo-amb-josep-juarez-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mucbo.org\/en\/un-viatge-paleontologic-apassionant-al-mucbo-amb-josep-juarez-2\/","title":{"rendered":"A Thrilling Paleontological Journey at MUCBO with Josep Ju\u00e1rez"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On <strong>August 7<\/strong>, the second event of the <strong>Natural Talks<\/strong> series took place \u2014 an initiative organised by <strong>MUCBO<\/strong> in collaboration with the <strong>Friends of MUCBO Society<\/strong>, which continues to spark great interest among the public.<\/p><p>Around fifty people gathered at MUCBO to attend the talk <em>\u201cMallorca Before It Was Mallorca: The Island\u2019s Rich Fossil Record\u201d<\/em>, presented by MUCBO researcher <strong>Josep Ju\u00e1rez<\/strong>.<\/p><p>For an hour, Ju\u00e1rez guided the audience on a fascinating journey through millions of years of Mallorca\u2019s natural history, with a focus on the most recent paleontological discoveries. He also highlighted how many of the geological materials that make up the island today are over <strong>300 million years old<\/strong>, revealing a far deeper and richer natural story than we often imagine.<\/p><p>The session ended on a musical note, with a <strong>violin recital<\/strong> performed by the speaker himself, followed by an open discussion with the audience in a warm, curious, and engaging atmosphere.<\/p><p>At MUCBO, we\u2019re delighted with the public\u2019s response to this growing series. In fact, the next session will be held on <strong>October 17<\/strong>, with <strong>Pep Marc\u00fas<\/strong> presenting <em>\u201cEclipse 2026: Survival Guide\u201d<\/em>. The first edition (July 31) sold out quickly, and although there are currently no available spots, interested participants can join the <strong>waiting list<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The <strong>Natural Talks<\/strong> series is yet another example of the commitment of the <strong>Friends of MUCBO Society<\/strong> to scientific outreach and the connection between science and society.
