{"id":8968,"date":"2025-08-27T12:32:35","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T10:32:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mucbo.org\/un-viatge-paleontologic-apassionant-al-mucbo-amb-josep-juarez\/"},"modified":"2025-08-27T12:45:56","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T10:45:56","slug":"un-viatge-paleontologic-apassionant-al-mucbo-amb-josep-juarez","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mucbo.org\/en\/un-viatge-paleontologic-apassionant-al-mucbo-amb-josep-juarez\/","title":{"rendered":"A fascinating paleontological journey at MUCBO with Josep Ju\u00e1rez"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On August 7th, the second session of the <strong>Confer\u00e8ncies Naturals<\/strong> cycle took place \u2014 an initiative organised by <strong>MUCBO<\/strong> in collaboration with the <strong>Friends of MUCBO Society<\/strong>, which continues to generate great public interest.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Around fifty people gathered at MUCBO to attend the talk titled <strong><strong>\u201cMallorca abans d\u2019\u00e9sser Mallorca: el ric registre f\u00f2ssil de la nostra illa<\/strong>\u201d<\/strong> presented by MUCBO researcher <strong>Josep Ju\u00e1rez<\/strong>.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the course of an hour, Ju\u00e1rez guided the audience through a fascinating journey spanning millions of years of life on the island of Mallorca, with a special focus on the island\u2019s most recent paleontological discoveries. He also highlighted how many of the geological materials that make up the island today are over <strong>300 million years old<\/strong>, revealing a natural history far deeper and richer than we often imagine.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evening concluded with a special musical moment: a <strong>violin recital performed by the speaker himself<\/strong>, followed by an <strong>open discussion<\/strong>, where attendees were able to engage with Ju\u00e1rez in a relaxed and enriching setting.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At MUCBO, we are thrilled with the public\u2019s response to this conference series, which continues to grow in both interest and participation. In fact, on <strong>October 17th<\/strong>, we\u2019ll host a second edition of the popular talk <strong>&#8220;Eclipse 2026: Survival Guide&#8221;<\/strong>, led by <strong>Pep Marc\u00fas<\/strong>, after the first session (held on July 31st) sold out rapidly. Although the event is currently fully booked, <strong>interested individuals may still sign up for the waiting list<\/strong>.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong><strong>Confer\u00e8ncies Naturals<\/strong><\/strong> are yet another example of MUCBO\u2019s commitment to <strong>scientific outreach<\/strong> and building bridges between <strong>science and society<\/strong>.
