This talk offers a unique opportunity to delve into the transformation of the agricultural landscape of Mallorca over ten centuries, from the 10th century to the early 20th century.<\/p><p>The objective of the conference is to share a lesser-known but essential aspect of Mallorca&#8217;s history: the role of farmers as true creators of the landscape. It will highlight the social and economic past of pre-tourist Mallorca, while also giving voice to the often-forgotten Andalusian period as an integral part of our historical memory.<\/p><p>The narrative will be structured in three chapters to provide a clear and well-organized view. The first will focus on the Andalusian period, marking the beginnings of agriculture as we know it. The second will address the expansion of cereals, vineyards, and olive trees following the Conquest. Finally, the evolution of crops during the 19th century and the first third of the 20th century will be discussed, including the emergence of new agricultural practices that diversified the estates.<\/p><p>Biel Moll, born in Capdepera in 1978, holds a degree in Philosophy and has extensive experience as a cultural guide for residents. He has also worked as a journalist and emotional educator, bringing a unique and enriching perspective to his exhibitions.<\/p><p>This conference is an invitation to reflect on how the farming community has shaped our landscape and to understand the historical contexts that have defined Mallorca\u2019s relationship with the land.
