Last Saturday, the final day of October, the ornithology section of the Friends of the MUCBO Society organised an excursion to s\u2019Albufera. Throughout the morning, Toni Fontanet guided participants on a birdwatching outing through canals and reed beds, during one of the best times of the year to discover the great diversity of species that inhabit this natural area.<\/p>

The osprey was one of the main highlights of the day, providing a memorable sight as it prepared to eat a fish it had just caught. Flamingos, with their characteristic vivid pink colour, also offered a spectacular display as they took flight together against the autumn sky. Glossy ibises were also seen, rising into the air before the observers.<\/p>

Throughout the route, many other species were identified, including spoonbills, white and grey ducks, shovelers, marbled teals, coots, sandpipers, avocets, common sandpipers, harriers, white and grey herons, and wood pigeons.<\/p>

The day concluded with an exceptional landscape, marked by the colours of a rainbow and rain clouds on the horizon, which turned the morning into a truly natural spectacle.<\/p>
